Becoming your new self requires change

" Nothing is actually destroyed. Any seeming destruction is a result of a change in consciousness." — Neville Goddard, Your Faith is Your Fortune

Have you ever had those moments that you start to focus on yourself, you start a new morning routine, are eating better, focusing on your mindset, you start to feel amazing and then....everything around you starts to crumble. You want to change your life but didn't plan on this kind of change!

Your friends become distant, you lose your job, you get some massive unexpected bill in the mail. In those moments it is so easy to quickly revert back to your old habits, those old routines that kept your world mostly drama-free and felt safe, even if the safe was unwanted it still felt comfortable and known.

It is so easy to think this is nonsense, I have been focusing on being the best version of myself and now I am losing so much.

But I want you to consider for a moment that nothing is ever destroyed, ever, but it does change to make room for the new opportunity coming your way.

Think about it, how can you change your life if nothing actually changes? Especially the things that when you look back you can see they were not actually serving you and everything you "lost" was not for this new life of yours.

Some may think this is a test of your faith, that God or the universe is sending you some test to prove you will continue on your faith. I think it is much more simple than that - you can't have both versions of yourself, so a lot of your old connections, beliefs, and routines are getting a shake up as the version of you that you currently are arises into the person you are becoming.

In Chapter 10 of Your Faith is Your Fortune by Neville Goddard, he tells us

'The Bible, which is the greatest psychological book ever written, warns man to be aware of what he hears; then follows this warning with the statement, “To him that hath it shall be given and to him that hath not it shall be taken away”. Though many look upon this statement as one of the most cruel and unjust of the sayings attributed to Jesus, it still remains a just and merciful law based upon life’s changeless principle of expression.'

As you express versions of yourself, the state or identity that you dwell in, your world reflects that truth back to you. Now, if you are in friendships that don't align to this new expression of yourself or have a job that is no longer serving the person you are becoming, then it will fall to the side as you rise above as the new and improved version of yourself.

He continues later in the chapter to say,

'Consciously define yourself as that which you desire.

Once defined, your conscious claim established, continue in this confidence until the reward is received. As surely as the day follows the night, any attribute, consciously claimed, will manifest itself. Thus, that which to the sleeping orthodox world is a cruel and unjust law becomes to the enlightened one of the most merciful and just statements of truth.“I am come not to destroy but to fulfill” [Matthew 5:17].

Nothing is actually destroyed. Any seeming destruction is a result of a change in consciousness.Consciousness ever fills full the state in which it dwells.

The state from which consciousness is detached seems to those not familiar with this law to be destructive. However, this is only preparatory to a new state of consciousness.

Claim yourself to be that which you want filled full.“Nothing is destroyed. All is fulfilled”.'

Decide who you want to be, the identity and values you want to hold, and allow yourself to rise to become that person.
